LeaderBrand Produce Ltd is a Gisborne owned and operated company who pride themselves on providing fresh quality produce to their customers in New Zealand. Our Process Engineering workshop is located at 352 Lytton Road, Gisborne and seeking an engineering superstar who offers great leadership skills to join their small team, ensuring our state-of-the-art modern salad house runs at optimum levels.
As a Maintenance Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing and delegating maintenance tasks to ensure high standards in repairs and functionality. You will oversee a team of technicians, provide support across various shifts, and ensure compliance with quality standards and TPM principles.
This role is pivotal in enhancing equipment reliability, supporting production, and fostering a collaborative work environment
The maintenance team lead role is a full-time permanent position based at our Processing Workshop in Gisborne. Working hours will be minimum of 40 and maximum of 45 hours per week. Hourly rate will be competitive and dependent on skills and experience that you bring with you.
About The Role
The maintenance team lead role offers the chance to make a difference working closely with a small team of technicians, supporting our state-of-the-art salad production facility.
You will become LeaderBrand’s champion ensuring you and your team provide excellent maintenance planning and resource management skills. The ability to ‘plan’ is a focus of this role, added to quick reaction skills and ensuring prompt decisions are made.
As part of our Process engineering maintenance team, you will focus on planning and coordinating preventive and predictive maintenance tasks, including maintenance shutdowns in order to maximise plant reliability.
The objectives of the Maintenance team lead role is to:
- Take leadership of maintenance through delegating tasks in a timely and efficient manner
- Ensure repairs and maintenance are completed to a high standard
- Work alongside team members offering them great communication on production updates, issues, concerns and assistance, and providing them support
- Quality standards to be maintained including ISO and quality systems
- TPM integration by collaborating with maintenance teams to implement preventive maintenance strategies
- Ensure planned work is initiated, the required resources are available, and work is carried out in line with plans, asset criticalities agreements
- Ensure preventive maintenance programmes are delivered within target
- Develop and update preventive maintenance plans
- Offer supervision on mechanical and electrical maintenance activities relating to food manufacturing process equipment.
About You
We will be looking for an enthusiastic person who offers:
- Registered electrician with a current practicing license or mechanical engineering level 4 (or both)
- Experience within the food and/or pharmaceutical industry
- Essential to have good interpersonal skills, organisational abilities, and technical problem-solving skills
- Sound knowledge electronic and electrical principles, plumbing, relay logic, SAP computerised maintenance management systems, and more.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Excellent excel and data management skills
- Knowledge of mechanical processes
- Ability to develop, communicate and build positive relationships through strong clear communication.
