Meet some of our Team

With almost 50 years in the business, we’ve welcomed some incredible people into our LeaderBrand family.

Billy – Future Farms Manager

I started in the sweetcorn team as a Harvest Crew Supervisor and Assistant Crop Manager. I then progressed into salad leaf as Crop Manager for four years. I now oversee the building of our greenhouse and working with other areas of the business to set up sales plans for when we start growing.  Soon I will be travelling to visit other international greenhouses and learn how we can implement this in Gisborne.

Andrew Rosso
Andrew – Farm Production Manager

I started at Leaderbrand  packing squash during my Uni breaks. After graduating, I started as a junior agronomist in squash. For eight years I was the lettuce Crop Manager on the Gisborne farm. Today, I cover all aspects of crop production, from land planning, agronomy, through to financial budgeting and reporting for watermelon and export squash. I enjoy the flexibility at work and how it changes from week-to-week.

Tayla – Agronomist

I work at the Gisborne Farm across multiple crops. I organise the transplanting and agronomy for lettuce and broccoli. In the summer, I support the sweetcorn team. Recently, I was the runner up in the Hort NZ Gisborne – Young Grower of the year.

MANI – PRECISION AGRICULTURE SPECIALIST

2022 Young Grower of the Year finalist & Gisborne Young Grower winner!

I have been working with LeaderBrand for 7 years and I like the variety of tasks in my role, that’s what I enjoy the most.

As Viticulture Manager, I managed hundreds of young vines daily,  supervised important pruning and helped maintain vine and soil health.

I’ve recently moved into the role of Precision Agriculture Technician where I lead the introduction of technology to our farm.
