WHAT WE GROW
When it comes to salad, for great taste and flavour, it’s hard to beat our Baby Leaf Salad Mix.
Our Green and Red Crispy, Coral, Oak, and Butter lettuce leaf packs a perfect punch, and we’re constantly trialing different varieties to refine what grows and tastes the best.
WHERE DOES IT GROW?
We grow our baby leaf varieties at our Gisborne farm. We’re currently constructing 11 ha of covered production. This will help provide a more consistent supply year round.
HOW DO WE MAKE IT?
To keep our baby leaf salads fresh and delicious from farm to shelf, we follow a few important steps:
- We hand harvest our baby leaf salad seven days a week to be sent on to our salad house.
- At our salad house it’s prepped, double-washed, dried and packed ready to go. To help give our baby leaf salad a longer shelf live both at the supermarket and in your fridge, we use a state-of-the-art drying machine to remove any excess moisture too.
- As soon as it’s washed and ready to eat straight from the bag, we transport our baby leaf salad directly to our customers.
