LeaderBrand’s maintenance planner position will suit someone who has good project planning and resource management skills, with the ability to plan being key, but also to be able to react quickly on occasion and make prompt decisions. In this position, you are responsible for planning, inventory control and purchasing.
The maintenance planner role is a full-time permanent position based at our Processing Workshop at 352 Lytton Road, Gisborne. Working hours will be minimum of 40 and maximum of 45 hours per week. Hourly rate will be competitive and dependent on skills and experience that you bring with you.
About The Role
LeaderBrand is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to assist with running of our state-of-the-art Salad production facility. As part of our maintenance team, you will focus on planning and coordinating preventive and predictive maintenance tasks, including maintenance shutdowns in order to maximise plant reliability. You will be responsible for planning, inventory control and purchasing.
Our ideal Maintenance Planner will become LeaderBrand’s champion ensuring they provide excellent maintenance planning and resource management skills. The ability to ‘plan’ being the focus of this role, added to quick reaction skills and ensuring prompt decisions are made.
The objectives of the Maintenance Planner role are to:
- Ensure planned work is initiated, ensuring that the required resources are available and work is carried out in line with plans, asset criticalities agreements
- Organise, monitor critical spares and consumables
- Determine and monitor labour capacity in order to develop preventive work plans to maximise resource utilisation
- Ensure preventive maintenance programmes are delivered within target
- Develop and update preventive maintenance plans
- Be able to organise efiecient asset management
- Develop/review standard job plans ensuring a consistent approach is delivered for repetitive jobs.
About You
We will be looking for an enthusiastic person who offers:
- Technical qualifications in mechanical or electrical fields
- Minimum five years’ experience within the food and/or pharmaceutical industry
- Experience as a maintenance/reliability planner (essential)
- Contribution in capital project scoping and planning
- Engineering background preferred (or production planning background)
- Experience in fast moving, highly automated production facilities
- Able to demonstrate capacity to accurately record, manage and analyse data electronically
- Excellent communication skills
- Project planning experience (using CMMS (MEX preferred) and/or Microsoft project
- Budget and resource management (including contractors)
- Sound negotiation skills
- Highly organised with attention to detail
- Ability to develop, communicate and build positive relationships with team members.
