Irrigation Operator General Hand
Water and sustainable practices are critical to our business success. Our water application is largely based around bore and underground ring main infrastructure with the latest telemetry monitoring but also surface water takes around the district, utilising boom hose reel irrigators, solid set sprinklers and drip irrigation systems.
We are currently seeking Irrigation Operator/General Hands to join our team for the remainder of the summer/autumn season.
About The Role
This fulltime, fixed term role is based at Makauri Farm and will commence as soon as possible, finishing up approximately May/June, dependant on the season and workload availability.
Key tasks include:
• daily operation of irrigation systems
• record keeping
• maintenance of equipment
• moving irrigation pipes
• tractor operations.
You will need to be physically fit, reliable and be able to think on your feet and problem solve as you go. A full NZ driver’s licence would be beneficial.
The hours of work are usually twelve hours, your availably to work weekends as well as weekdays are key requirements for this critical role.
Successful applicants must pass drug testing as part of the pre-employment process, be a New Zealand resident or hold a valid work visa and provide proof of vaccinations.
