Whether you are in the Horticulture industry or always wanted to be in food production LeaderBrand Produce are looking for their next Farm Manager to lead the Pukekohe operation. This is a key role with a focus on vegetable production reporting into the GM of Farming and sitting within the LeaderBrand Farming Leadership team.

About The Role

Important to this role is the ability to lead a team and build and maintain key stakeholder relationships. This means that the ‘nice to haves’ are experience in the Horticulture industry and/or vegetable production/Agronomy. So, if you are someone who can learn quickly, lead a team, and drive success and performance, then this could be your next opportunity. 

With a focus on innovation and technology, LeaderBrand Produce are at the forefront of what they do, having revolutionised the vegetable industry from “garden gate to dinner plate”! With 100% of their product NZ grown via a fully integrated supply model, LeaderBrand have farms across NZ growing and producing a range of fresh produce supplying every corner of the country daily. The Pukekohe site grows Broccoli, Lettuce, and Salad Crops year-round supplying directly to the customer and to their state of the art production facility in Gisborne. 

The Farm Manager is responsible for (but not limited to): 

  • Managing all aspects of supply 
  • The farm as a business unit
  • Farm production planning 
  • Resource Management
  • Product Quality and Delivery 
  • Culture, positive work environment and health safety & compliance.

About You

What the ideal candidate looks like: 

  • Strong leadership and people management – is essential you know how to get the best out of your team 
  • Experience in Vegetable Production/Agronomy (Brassica’s and Leafy greens)
  • Experience in operations management
  • Excellent communication and process/systems experience 
  • Previous success with continuous improvement and use of technology
  • Financial reporting
