WE have added two new salads, Mexican and Rocketslaw, to OUR popular range to help meet Kiwis increasing demand for Mexican themed meals
A survey indicates that many New Zealand households rely on a core set of about seven recipes for their weeknight meals, with Mexican cuisine becoming one of the most popular choices. Market data suggests that a third of New Zealanders prepare Mexican dishes and that the growth of Mexican food sales are out stripping other international cuisines. *
With these food trends in mind, we are introducing two new salads this summer, Mexican and Rocketslaw, which will offer busy people a healthy meal solution and help to make Kiwis’ favourite cuisine even easier, and more nutritious, without skimping on flavour.
Bevan Roach, our General Manager of Sales and Marketing says ready-made salads continue to grow in popularity as customers love the convenience of hassle-free and healthy dinner solutions for people constantly on the go.
“Recently we conducted some research groups with a selection of our customers. Convenience continues to be a big motivator for shoppers, but our customers also want meals that are healthy with fresh and nutritious ingredients. Mexican food ticks a lot of these boxes, which is why we think there has been such an upswing in demand and sales of this style of cuisine.
“Our new product development team got creating and we’re excited today to be launching a new Rocketslaw and Mexican salad to meet Kiwis’ salad demands. We know that our dressings are extremely popular, so we’ve undertaken extensive tastings to ensure that the new authentic Mexican dressing is perfect for your next Mexican themed meal,” he says.

Our new Rocketslaw is a delicious mix of peppery, wild rocket, tossed with red cabbage, green cabbage, and carrot. Paired perfectly with creamy lemon mayonnaise.
The Mexican salad is created from locally grown iceberg lettuce tossed with carrots and red cabbage, paired with an authentic tangy sour cream based Mexican dressing.

“We’ve perfected growing iceberg lettuce and cabbages at our farms, and we only include the very best produce in every pack of our salads. Every salad bag has been triple-washed and dried in our state-of-the art salad house, conveniently ready for you to eat as soon as you get home. It’s an effortless way to bring freshness and excitement to the table,” he says.
“Kiwis no longer see salads as just a side dish at their next summertime BBQ or picnic. The demand for leafy greens doesn’t dip in the winter months anymore; in fact, we’re munching our way through millions of bags consistent year-round as Kiwis look to reinvent their favourite weekly dishes with vibrant, nutritious greens,” he adds.
