Job Outline
LeaderBrand’s Makauri Farm is looking for a skilled and experienced tractor, harvester, and machinery operator to join our team in Gisborne. The ideal candidate will be passionate about farming and excited to embrace new growing practices and the upcoming advances in agricultural mechanisation, automation and digital technology.
About The Role
LeaderBrand Produce Ltd is at the forefront of New Zealand’s vegetable and salad production, family owned and leading supply nationally from its four farming bases. This role is based at our Gisborne farm, and is part of a large team of skilled operators who contribute to growing our vegetable and salad crops. To do this, we use a range of standard and specialised equipment and technology. Successful candidates have the ability to operate a range of equipment, as well as work on a wide range of different projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Operate a range of tractors, harvesters and associated equipment
- Assist in land development using a range of skills and equipment
- Perform machinery maintenance
- Assist with wider farm operations, including property and estate maintenance.

About You
The successful candidate will need to offer:
- Tractor/machinery operating experience
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own
- A good eye for detail
- Great communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to embrace technology and new ideas
- Commitment to health and safety
- Full NZ driver licence
- be a New Zealand Resident or hold a valid work Visa
- Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
