LeaderBrand grows fresh produce to feed all New Zealanders.  We are looking for staff to join our 2023 season, starting in January.  Part of LeaderBrand’s operation is processing sweetcorn and beetroot at our Pouch Pack facility.

About The Role

If you enjoy working with your hands, have excellent attention to detail, great hand-eye coordination and prefer a seasonal role, then we would love to hear from you.

The Tray Unloader role is responsible for unloading the retort trays for Pouch Pack, visually inspecting the pouches unloaded to identify any defects.  You will be responsible for:

  • To be or become fully conversant on tray unloading sequence according to company standard operating procedures
  • Conducting visual quality checks to ensure consistency and quality
  • Shared workload with two other team mates to achieve correct filling of trollies
  • Perform ‘in process cleaning’ of the unloading and Toyo area to ensure food safety, safety and GMP outcomes are achieved
  • Provide back up and support to other production functions within Pouch Pack that you are trained in
  • Contributing in proactive reporting of safety hazards or concerns
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities.

About You

We are seeking reliable Tray Unloaders who are:

  • Keen to work and can commit to five days a week
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in a hot environment
  • Have the ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements and heavy lifting of trays and lowering of fully loaded trays into trolleys
  • Ability to multi task and remain focused (visual inspection of pouches prior to loading)
  • Accuracy, reliability, diligence and consistent work out put
  • Strong attention to detail and working to a high standard
  • Able to work independently all the while contributing to the team achievements
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
