We have an exciting opportunity in our new Gisborne Covered Production facility; this is the first and largest greenhouse of its kind in New Zealand for growing vegetable crops in the soil. When finished this will be a self sustained 11 hectare Greenhouse, providing fresh raw material daily to our salad production facility, offering an unparalleled growing and working environment.

About The Role

The Operator – Covered Production role is full time and based at our Makauri Farm in Gisborne.  Expected pay rate is $25.00 to $32.00 (depending on your experience and skills), with working hours being a minimum of 40 hours per week.

We are currently seeking to attract someone that is enthusiastic, has a keen eye for detail and strives for operational excellence into our team, to carry out all roles within this new house from seeding through to harvest, including maintenance across the entire site.  The role will support the Manager in all growing functions and day to day running of the house.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tractor operation experience
  • Attention to detail in all operations
  • Enthusiastic attitude offering a ‘jack of all trades’ background
  • Quick thinker and able to problem solve on the go
  • Enjoy working alone or as a team
  • Willingness to learn, grow and challenge
  • An interest or experience in horticulture/agriculture – you will be supporting the manager in growing
  • Full drivers’ license
  • Pass a pre employment drug test.
