LeaderBrand’s process engineering team are looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their busy team.  Located in Gisborne the process engineering team support running and maintaining of our ‘state of the art’ Salad production facility. 

  • To support production operations through preventive and corrective maintenances
  • Follow job schedule reporting output about fixing and bring solutions
  • Focus on Food Safety good practices and main time to repair.

About The Role

LeaderBrand’s Maintenance Fitter vacancy is based in Gisborne, offering a full-time permanent role.

In this role you’ll:

  • Repair and service plant machinery efficiently, following specifications and ensuring all documentation is accurately recorded in FIIX
  • Fabricate and assemble essential components, including frames and pipework, and maintain a clean, organised workspace
  • Assist in machine setup, troubleshoot faults with a keen eye for detail, and lead initiatives for continuous improvement
  • Prioritise tasks, keep precise records, and ensure new installations meet NZ4024 hygienic design standards
  • Support project work by scoping, ordering parts, and reading technical diagrams, while assisting with engineering admin and purchasing
  • Adhere to our “Zero Harm” safety practices, train others, and help us uphold environmental standards across all sites.

About You

We’re looking for a qualified Maintenance Fitter who brings:

  • A trade qualification and at least three years’ experience in engineering trades
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with strong fault-finding skills and a methodical mindset
  • A commitment to safety and quality, along with the ability to promote a productive team environment
  • Strong organisational skills to prioritise workloads and complete tasks efficiently
  • A Class 1 driver’s licence, flexibility to travel as needed, and a willingness to undergo pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing
