LeaderBrand Produce and Ashwood Estate is seeking a skilled and experienced grounds person to maintain our large residential lawns and gardens, as well as additional grounds LeaderBrand owns and operates.
As New Zealand’s leading fresh vegetable producer we strive to maintain our site and gardens in the same manner. This is a full time role based in Gisborne and predominantly requires the full up-keep of all lawns but includes trees, hedges and gardens.
About The Role
Duties will include:
- Mowing, disease and pest control, weeding, and regeneration
- Operating and maintaining irrigation, mowing equipment and machinery
- Keeping grounds tidy and carrying out upkeep and maintenance work on fence lines and drains
- Maintaining gardens – flowers, plants, shrubs and trees
- Full time permanent role offered.
About You
Skills and knowledge desired include:
- An understanding of soil and plant science (agronomy) and care
- Knowledge of pest, weed and disease control methods and associated safe practice
- Skill in using and repairing machinery
- Knowledge of landscaping techniques
- Knowledge and experience of tree care and maintenance
- You must also be professional, self-motivated and independent with the ability to work autonomously
- NZ full driver’s licence
- Pass a pre-employment drug test
- Current Covid vaccinations
- New Zealand citizenship or current valid working visa.
Hours and Remuneration: 20-40 hours per week, this is a full time role of up to 40 hours per week however if required for the right candidate there is flexibility. Up to $34.00 per hour plus holiday pay depending on experience. In this role you will be reporting to our Transport & Groundwork Manager.
