Farm Worker and Machine Operator
Job Outline
Ready to grow your career with one of New Zealand’s most recognised horticultural businesses?
LeaderBrand is looking for hands‑on, motivated farm workers and machinery operators to help us plant, care for, and harvest the fresh produce that feeds Kiwi families.
If you love working outdoors, enjoy physical work, and want to be part of a team that takes pride in doing things right — we want to hear from you.
About The Role
In this role, you’ll work as both a Farm Worker and Machinery Operator, supporting the farm through the seasons with hands‑on farming activities such as harvesting across a range of crops, planting, crop maintenance, and general field work. This is a physical, outdoor role where a great attitude and being a team player are essential.
As part of the machinery team, you will also safely and efficiently operate harvesters and other farm machinery, carrying out daily checks, reporting maintenance needs, and helping ensure productivity and safety standards are met.
You’ll collaborate closely with multiple teams across the farm — including groundwork, harvest, planting, irrigation, and management — to help get the job done right.
Harvesting – You’ll help harvest a range of crops, making sure everything meets our high quality, food safety and hygiene standards.
Planting – You’ll support planting operations, keeping spacing consistent, loading plant trays efficiently, and ensuring every young plant gets the right start.
Crop Maintenance & Irrigation – From laying and shifting irrigation lines to weeding and general crop husbandry, you’ll help keep our fields healthy and productive.
Machinery Operation – You’ll safely and confidently operate harvesters and other machinery, carrying out daily checks and reporting maintenance needs quickly.
Health & Safety – You’ll actively contribute to a positive safety culture, identifying hazards and speaking up when something needs attention.
This is a physical, hands‑on role where teamwork, great communication, and a “pitch in and help” attitude are essential. You’ll collaborate closely with planting, harvest, groundwork and irrigation teams to get the job done right.
