
FARM HARVEST SUPERVISOR
About The Role
Based in Gisborne, this is a full-time role leading our field crews and supporting efficient harvest operations. As a Field Crew Supervisor, you’ll coordinate staff to maximise productivity while maintaining high standards across quality, safety, and performance.
Working closely with the Fresh Crops Operations Manager, you’ll ensure production plans are delivered effectively, communicate any changes across the business, and keep day-to-day operations running smoothly in the field.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading health & safety practices, including team briefings, incident reporting, and compliance
- Ensuring all harvesting meets food safety and quality assurance standards (including NZ/GGAP)
- Managing daily harvest operations to meet volume, quality, and efficiency targets
- Planning and coordinating harvest schedules, monitoring crop readiness and yields
- Leading, training, and supporting field staff, including performance management
- Overseeing equipment use, maintenance, and compliance
- Maintaining hygiene standards and preventing contamination risks
- Supporting land care, site upkeep, and positive community relationships
- Communicating effectively across teams and contributing to continuous improvement
You’ll work closely with teams right across the business, from crop production and engineering through to post-harvest, helping connect field operations to the finished product.



About You
You’re a hands-on leader who enjoys working outdoors and getting the best out of your team. You know how to keep things running smoothly in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- A current New Zealand driver’s licence
- Proven harvest experience
- Experience leading and motivating a team
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across teams
It would be an advantage if you also have:
- Pilot Licence (Oversize Vehicles)
- Class 2 licence
- Forklift licence
You’re reliable, practical, and lead by example, someone who takes pride in doing the job well and supporting your team to do the same.
