About The Role

As a Sprayer Operator, you’ll be responsible for operating and maintaining spraying equipment to ensure the safe and efficient application of crop protection products. You’ll play a key role in supporting healthy crop production and contributing to sustainable farming practices, reporting to our Agronomist.

No two days are the same, and you’ll be part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operation of a 16-metre boom sprayer with precise application of chemicals
  • Measure and mix agrichemicals as per instruction and to safety standards
  • Accurate record keeping of applicants and inventory
  • Ensure protocols and applications are aligned with NZS 8409:2021 and Hazardous Substances Regulations
  • Crop disease and pest monitoring
  • General horticultural machinery operation, crop and farm maintenance
  • Follow health, safety, and environmental guidelines
  • Maintain equipment and carry out minor repairs as needed
  • Work closely with farm managers and agronomists to deliver the best results
  • Ensure any safety observations are raised with farm managers and agronomists
  • Complete regular refresher training
  • Complete daily operator checklists

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • previous experience operating agricultural spraying machinery/equipment
  • relevant and current spraying certifications (Growsafe/ certified handler qualifications)
  • good attention to detail and a proactive attitude
  • the ability to work flexible hours during peak seasons
  • a full driving licence
  • New Zealand residency or valid work visa
  • The successful applicant will require a pre-employment drug test
