Job Outline
As a Retort Operator, you play a crucial role in ensuring the Retort process is operated according to the established process controls.
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our Pouch Pack seasonal operation. The role is fixed term for 6 months and requires extended hours of work and may require weekend work.
About The Role
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work well with a team in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for setting up, operating and the monitoring of the retorts to ensure the smooth and efficient production of sweetcorn and beetroot pouches.
In this role, you’ll work alongside a dedicated team to achieve daily production and quality targets for corn and beetroot production.
As a valued team member, you’ll take on a range of critical responsibilities, including:
Setting up the Retorts according to production and quality specifications
Monitor the retort cycle, maintaining precise record keeping
Ensuring a clean and organised workspace
Maintaining food safety protocols
Always following safety protocols

Desired Experience and Skills:
Physically fit to meet the demands of the role
Experience in food manufacturing
Familiarity with food safety and quality requirements
Strong health and safety awareness
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Basic computer literacy for monitoring report cycles and entering cook data
Accurate, reliable, and detail-oriented
Strong organisational skills with an ability to prioritise workload
Works well independently and in a team
