About The Role
As a Mechanical Engineering Technician, you’ll play a key part in maintaining and improving our production machinery and site infrastructure. You’ll work collaboratively with other team members to ensure our equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably — supporting the delivery of high-quality fresh produce to kiwi families
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out repairs, servicing, and preventive maintenance on plant machinery
- Performing fault-finding, testing, and equipment optimisation
- Reading and interpreting technical diagrams and mechanical specifications
- Assisting with project work, new installations, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Fabricating and assembling mechanical components and pipework
- Completing accurate maintenance documentation (FIIX) and time records
- Promoting food safety, Zero Harm, and environmental best practices
About You
What We’re Looking For
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Trade qualification or Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Technology
Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical or engineering trades (industry experience desired)
Food processing or manufacturing experience is a strong advantage
Proven ability in diagnostics, fabrication, and maintenance of mechanical systems
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Competent in reading technical drawings and following safety procedures
Willingness to work shiftwork as required
