As a Business Systems Analyst, you will provide leadership and expertise on industry-leading technologies, reporting tools, data management methodologies, and best practices within LB IT environment.

You will be required to work closely with subject matter experts and process owners to identify opportunities for improvements (efficiency, accuracy, cost effectiveness, ease of use etc.) in the day-to-day business operations, driving the changes and monitoring the value realisation for the best business outcomes.

About The Role

The Business Systems Analyst will report to LeaderBrand’s IT Manager.  We are offering a full-time permanent role working within a tight-knit team of four, based at Awapuni Road, Gisborne.  Hours of work are flexible, however 40 hours Monday-Friday is our baseline.  There could be the odd occasion that weekend work is required.

What would you be responsible for:

  • examining existing business procedures and identify areas for improvement
  • document requirements, define project scope and create system specifications
  • Interact with users to identify efficiencies and enhance the system
  • Ensure accurate results flow into reporting applications
  • Collaborate with controllers during the validation process
  • Validate inbound and outbound data at key integration points with other systems
  • Collaborate with managers and functional area leaders
  • Research emerging technologies suitable for LeaderBrand
  • Analyse costs, benefits, and implement new systems
  • Train employees on effective software usage
  • Create technical instruction manuals
  • Maximise system efficiency through regular communication
  • Regularly test and analyse company performance, information, and plans
  • Report common patterns, questions, and issues to management
  • Propose solutions for process improvement and restructuring of data
  • Adhere to best practice under change management policy by maintaining consistency and minimising risks
  • Monitoring metrics such as adherence to timelines, documentation completeness, and successful implementation of change management.

LeaderBrand is seeking someone who can offer:

  • Five years’ experience in a similar role
  • Degree qualified or IT Industry qualifications
  • Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Systems analysis and design
  • Business process improvement
  • Technical documents
  • Experience in creating, modifying, and managing POWER platform suite of tools (APS/ BI/ Automate)
  • Hands on experience managing a data warehouse, data lake or similar technologies
  • Hands on experience around database management in SQL is preferred.
